What a fantastic, perfect miniature of a full sized Ohio Star quilt! Crisp, clean and very graphic, this antique quilt has great appeal on many levels. The very early fabrics, all vegetable dyes, will delight any true antique fabric junkie with its assortment of double pinks, indigo, yellow and brown calicoes. Both the color palette and sense of scale are used exceptionally well and exhibit the artistry of the quilter. Outline quilting is used in all pieced blocks and in the sawtooth border, with cross hatch stitching used for the sashing. The backing and ¼ inch applied binding are tobacco brown solid cotton. As this petite treasure is from Betsey’s private collection and straight out of her home it comes complete with sleeves for hanging. What a perfect piece of art for your wall!
