Dated 1893 we believe this was made by family members as a wedding gift due to the incorporation of love birds and fidelity rings among the lavish overall embellishment of the quilt.

With initials, large florals, butterflies, floral baskets, birds, and even a moon with star this beauty makes a solid statement in the world of folk art. Made from wool and silk and top tied every two inches, this quilt has a backing in pieced green and brown wool challis turned from the back to the front to form a ¼ inch binding.
