CON DC1 Nine Patch on Point Crib Quilts – Pair
Signed & Dated 1912
42 x 48 each
MA or RI
$1,100 (pair)

What a sweet pair of diminutive quilts! To find a pair of quilts executed by the same quilt maker is rare and always a pleasure to offer. The fact that these are crib sized makes them even more special. This set comes directly to RMQ from the family of the maker and are in wonderful condition. They were originally made for two great-grandchildren and have been loved and cared for through the years by the family. Each quilt is signed in indelible ink in the center of one nine patch block "CBL Chase". One quilt also includes "Age 89, 1912" after the name.

Nine patch blocks 5 ¾" square are set on point and contain small patches 1 7/8" square. The quilts contain both solid and printed cottons in red, pink blue, tan and yellow from the late 19th into the very early 20th century. A soft and pretty yellow, green and white floral stripe cotton is used for the joining blocks.

The backing fabric on the pair is a small scale white striped circle on black. Each quilt is pillowcase edged with top stitching executed by hand as an accent. The quilts are top tied with hand knotted pink floss throughout. Clean and soft with a lovely muted color palette, this pair is perfect for special twins or siblings and are appropriate for both boys and girls as wall art! Full name of the maker and other information will be provided to the buyer. Professionally hand washed by Betsey. Our quilts are always sent on approval.
