CON KS2 Flying Geese with Chintz Border

$2,200
This fabulous, loved quilt would be perfect for a collector of early textiles. The 2 ¾ inch flying geese blocks were created from early block and copper plate prints. The border chintz is an unusual early copper plate print still retaining some of its original glaze. As the width of the 16 ½ inch border on three sides attests, this quilt was originally made for an early high post bed needing a more lengthy drop. The border is 6 inches on the head end of the quilt. The separately applied binding is a narrow ¼ inch, and the backing is homespun linen. Professionally hand washed by Betsey.
