This gorgeous quilt was made by a highly skilled needlewoman; both the appliqué and diagonal quilting stitches are extremely even and miniscule. Five large adaptations of a Rose of Sharon pattern have been completed in overdyed green, solid yellow, turkey red, and a tiny red speckled stripe. Graceful vines and flowers echoing the inner roses meander around the border. The narrow white binding has been turned over from the front to the white backing.
