What an endearing doll coverlet, lovingly made and carefully preserved in unused condition. The doll, teddy bear, rocking horse and train motifs have been skillfully worked using cotton floss in a variety of embroidery stitches, from French knots to outline, running, daisy, satin, and cross-stitching. Each motif has been hand outline quilted, and the white cotton background filled in with chevron quilting. The yellow 1/2 inch binding has been turned over from the back to the front. A wonderful example of 1940's design! Professionally hand washed by Betsey.
