The thrifty creator of this cozy quilt skillfully combined a wide range of fabrics and colors to make a wonderfully graphic textile. Wools, cotton and cotton flannels, and silk and cotton velvets were string pieced into 8 inch blocks. The border and wholecloth backing is lavender cotton sateen and the quilt has been finished with a ½ inch black binding. All hand quilted in lavender thread using outlining and diagonal lines spaced 1 ¼ inches apart to echo the width of the string logs. What a great piece of art…for the bed or wall! In perfect, unused condition.
