What a wonderful folk art wool and wool challis quilt! This textile is truly a unique adaptation and combination of patterns. In excellent condition, this quilt was hand pieced and embroidered in wool with fly, feather, herringbone, and blanket stitches, along with various flower bud embellishments. The 3/8 inch binding was created by frugally piecing assorted wool scraps together. A fine polished cotton in a lovely green on green stripe was used for the backing, and the quilt was tied with a reddish brown, tightly twisted wool yarn.
