Such a spectacular little antique quilt comprised of a wonderful array of incredible and very early fabrics! The early dyes and patterns make for a very sophisticated Diamond in a Square design in a gorgeous palette of Indigo blues, Turkey reds, browns and taupes. The backing uses fabric that is also on the front - a thin red and blue striped bar alternating with a taupe and cream bar. An applied ¼ inch original binding in a taupe and cream print shows some wear. Quilting on this small treasure is in outline and cross hatch stitching in both off white and very light brown thread. A wonderful piece to grace your home as a decorative accent or as art for your wall. Professionally hand washed by Betsey and from her private collection.
