Vibrant pink and pristine white cottons in unused condition make this fun quilt perfect to cheer any room! The extended or variable 9 patch pattern gives such a wonderful feeling of movement which is accentuated here by the precise piecing of a skilled needlewoman. The maker was also creative in her hand quilting as, along with outline stitches, she created her own patterns resembling figure eight double cables and crescent moon teardrops and used them systematically throughout the quilt. Penciled quilting lines are still visible in areas of the quilt. Backed in the same pure white fabric as used on the front it has a 3/8 inch applied binding in the same gorgeous pink as is used in the border and 9 patch squares.

This wonderful piece would be easy to add to an already established décor. Solids are so comfortable mixed with plaids, florals, calicoes or stripes…. a few of these together create a more sophisticated look. Pristine, crisp and happy, this quilt has been professionally hand washed by Betsey.
