This fabulous quilt has a very unique and sophisticated color palette, and its wonderful graphics make it the perfect choice for any time of year, but an especially beautiful choice at Christmas. In unused condition, the pre Civil War calico fabrics are ones Betsey has not seen before. The Steeplechase squares have been hand pieced from an overdyed green calico with hearts topped by a tiny yellow dot, and a deep Turkey red calico with a black/white tulip flower print. The joining blocks have been made from an absolutely miniscule brown calico. The wholecloth backing has been made with luscious chocolate brown calico with tiny roses. Hand quilted with crosshatching in the body of the quilt and chevrons in the border. Professionally hand washed by Betsey.
