Here is a happy find…a matching pair of unused quilts made specifically for youth beds or throws. The quiltmaker was careful to reduce the scale of the baskets so as not to overwhelm the size and purpose of these quilts. The pink and blue blocks are only 5 ¾ inches per side and set on point, with off-white joining blocks. Hand quilted with chevrons in the baskets, tulip motifs in the joining blocks, and outlining throughout. Wouldn’t this wonderful pair of quilts look lovely folded in half over a rod; one behind each of two single beds? The 3/8 inch binding was casually applied with machine topstitching, and so these two quilts have been priced accordingly for the funky bindings. Professionally hand washed by Betsey.
