What a perfect quilt to make one feel like summer in any season ! Deep yellow calico stars with solid white gathered petals and mustard centers sparkle against a cheerful green background, and are bounded by matching green joining blocks and white sashing and borders. The Dahlia pattern is one of the most complex and challenging quilt patterns to piece in order to achieve the desired three dimensional effect, and this quilter certainly was up to the task! Each hand pieced block measures approximately 11 ½ inches square, with 3 inch wide sashing and borders. All hand quilted with outline, echo outline, flowers and leaves in the sashing and border, and flowers in the joining blocks. The ¼ inch separately applied binding is also solid green, and the backing is white cotton. In excellent condition and professionally hand washed by Betsey.
