This classic two color combination of blue and white would make a wonderful addition to any room! It is comprised of solid white and various solid blue fabrics that contain subtle shade differences. Whether as a result of cleverness or necessity the use of multiple blue shades adds tremendous interest to this two color palette. The blocks measure 6 ½ inches square and are skillfully pieced to form multiple pinwheels scattered across the quilt. Double borders, in blue and white, each measure 2 ½ inches wide and frame the design beautifully.
Finely executed hand quilting on this complex variation of the Rob Peter to Pay Paul pattern showcases this quilt maker’s expertise with a needle. Stitches include one inch chevrons in the borders and ¾ inch diamond cross hatch throughout the inner design. Original pencil lines used for the quilting are still visible in this unused quilt. A white backing and applied 3/8 inch white binding complete the quilt.
A wonderful 20th century addition to a blue and white collection or a wonderful first quilt in pristine condition. Professionally hand washed by Betsey. Quilts are always sent on approval. |
