The wonderful color palette of blue and yellow make this quilt perfect for any room where you’d like to showcase classic French Provence colors. This color combination is very hard to find in an antique American quilt. Having been gently used and lovingly cared for it remains in excellent condition. Its soft feel and pleasing color combination make it especially cozy– both visually and for warmth.
Classic double chains travel across the expanse of the quilt then bordered by a wide 8 inch yellow fabric accented with tiny red raindrops. The classic medium blue fabric has small white dots throughout. The backing on this lovely quilt is classic Mennonite in design with strip piecing of two different fabrics: yellow with tiny red flowers sporting pale taupe stems and leaves, and an elegant white with pale taupe undulating ribbons and vines made up of small dots.
Quilting is nicely done with cables and both straight and diagonal cross hatch stitching. The ¼” binding is formed by the front turning over to the back and hand stitched down. A lovely classic quilt in both pattern and color palette sought after by today’s designers. Professionally hand washed by Betsey and ready for your home. Our quilts are always sent on approval. |
