Such a wonderful medley of early 20th century calicoes are displayed in this sweet hand pieced Depression era quilt. If you love postage stamp quilts and early twentieth century fabrics this fabulous Triple Irish Chain is definitely for you. One inch squares are used throughout utilizing every possible color popular in the 1920’s in a wide variety of calicoes, geometrics, stripes and florals. Almost any color existing in a room would be picked up and highlighted by this quilt, allowing it to easily fit into any décor.
Quilting is done entirely by hand with cross hatch stitches in the individual patches and a wagon wheel pattern in the white areas. The backing is white cotton and the applied 3/8” binding is in a gray, pink and white floral and plaid cotton. We are fortunate to have the name of the maker and that information will be passed on to the buyer.
This is an extremely lively and happy quilt in excellent condition – it has been used but lovingly cared for – ready to be used either on a bed or hung as fun graphic art on your wall.
