An elegant Turkey red and white cotton quilt in excellent condition. This lovely antique quilt is comprised of just two fabrics: pristine white and a softly muted Turkey red. Double borders in red and white measure 1 1/2” wide and 1 3/4" wide respectively. Miniature nine patch blocks measure a mere 1 7/8” x 1 7/8", with interior squares a scant half inch in size. A wonderful diminutive example of the Double 9 Patch Irish Chain pattern beautifully executed.

Quilting on this wonderful piece is stitched by hand with lemon peel used for the white joining blocks, and 3/4" diagonal cross hatch in the double nine blocks and double border. The backing is a very fine white cotton with an applied 3/8” binding in the same Turkey red cotton.

This is a wonderful example of a popular pattern executed in miniature scale. A must-have addition to a red and white collection or a wonderful first piece and in excellent soft condition. This quilt has been used but lovingly cared for and would be perfect on a bed, a throw, or as art hung on your wall.
