Each checkerboard square is 1 5/8" x 1 5/8" and pieced by hand in solid red and white. A 3 1/4" white border and 3/8" applied solid red binding provide the perfect frame for the pattern within. The backing is the same white cotton used on the front. Hand quilting includes diagonal one inch cross hatch stitching in the squares with cables stitched in the white border.
