CONHO41 Folk Art Barn Raising Log Cabin Quilt
c. 1930
70 x 74 inches
Pennsylvania
$2,900

A spectacularly graphic Folk Art Rendition of the conventional Barn Raising Log Cabin. Created in the normal way except for the center chimney which is "L" shaped instead of being square. Meticulously pieced and quilted with very small perfectly even quilting. As with the Amish and Mennonite quilts they are treadle machine pieced and then hand quilted. I do not know who created this masterpiece.

Each Log is 1" in width and of different lengths as needed. There is an 8" scalloped border finished with a tiny 1/4" separately applied binding. The binding was applied by machine and closed by hand with minuscule stitches.

This quilt appears never to have been used, however we have hand washed it with organic products. Ready to be sent, with free shipping, for your approval.
