CONSN2 Postage Stamp Sunshine and Shadow
c.1880 (with fabrics dating back to c.1850)
80 x 80 inches
This graphically exciting Postage Stamp Sunshine and Shadow quilt will work perfectly well in an antique home as well as a contemporary one. Thousands of 1-1/8” squares from c.1845 to c.1880. Completely created by hand, the quilter finished using a horizontal grid pattern with rows apx 1-1/4” apart. There’s a minuscule less than 1/4” hand applied binding in a solid Turkey Red. This will fit today’s queen size bed, however, this could also make a great room art piece. This was created in the Kent, OH area. The family names and photograph of the quilters are available upon sale.
