WOW !! This perfect condition Victorian Crazy Quilt is over the top! To
begin with, this very talented quilter made the "blocks" in triangles
not squares. Everything is over the top. There are borders on two sides
measuring 5-1/4" in Burgundy silk Velvet. The bottom border measures 5
1/2" also in the same silk velvet. There is beautiful embroidery along
the border of the edging. The top edge is trimmed with a burgundy and
gold/rose and pink rope twist.
The mark of excellence in a Victorian Crazy Quilt is 100 different
stitches...this quilt surpasses that mark! In addition there are
embroidered flowers, leaves, figures of birds, women, children, little
girl, moon and stars, dates, initials, the name Ray, cherubs, wheat
staffs, goblet, vase, teacup, spider web, butterflies, Japanese fans,
basket, and a few oil paintings....and more. All are exquisitely
embroidered with all pieces outline embroidered.
There is no way to express how special this quilt is...must be seen to
be appreciated.
