This center medallion from a Depression Era kit quilt is a perfect size
for a "throw" or a small area to decorate.
During the era from 1928 into the 1940's quilters could purchase kit
quilts. The backing would come stamped with a quilting design. All of
the fabric would be included..You did all the work! This just made the
decision of pattern and fabric easy for you as the kit held all you
needed. Here we have a Center Medallion Basket of Flowers.
These fabrics are all solid pastels...a smorgasbord of Depression era
pastel colors.
All applique and quilting were executed by hand. Both applique stitches
and quilting stitches are tiny and perfect. We have reverse applique as
well as applique. The binding measures 3/8" and is separately applied by
machine and finished by hand.
Now organically hand washed and ready to be sent for your approval.
