Log Cabin quilts are graphically pleasing pieces of art. This fragment from a larger quilt is no exception. Pieced with 2 ¼ " red chimneys and approximately 1/2" logs in a variety of 1920’s cotton fabrics in stripes, paisleys, plaids, calicoes and dots. This textile has all the qualities you look for in its larger cousin. Blocks are set using the Sunshine and Shadows pattern. The fragment backing is a same date red, white and blue calico with reverse ties. There is a same date ¼ inch solid red applied binding that frames this diminutive piece beautifully. Perfect for decorating that small space or for draping over a couch or table. Professionally hand washed by Betsey.
