Twenty-five Sunbonnet Sues in raincoats, rain hats and galoshes...These
happy little girls are all set to play outside in the rain!
Each block measures 10-1/4" square and contains a fully outfitted Sue,
each one in a different calico outfit. The fabrics from that era are so
happy ..especially when you compare them to the somber fabric colors of
previous decades. So many were mourning the loss of family members from
three wars...now we are into the roaring 20's and feeling better about
life in general!
There is marine Blue sashing measuring 3-1/4" in width. There is a
separately applied binding 3/8" in width. Each Sue is perfectly
appliqued and embellished with buttonhole stitching. They just look
happy!! The quilting is amazing. Executed with a New England pattern
that looks like overlapping silver dollar which is a type of sea urchin.
The stitches are tiny and perfect.
What a wonderful way to create a happy bedroom for that special person!
