This cotton Bethlehem Star quilt makes a fantastic graphic statement with its wonderful color palette and the addition of original hand appliqued leaves and hearts around the central star. Gorgeous solid cheddar, blue and chocolate brown fabrics are offset by a solid brown ground. Each diamond contained in the large star measures 2 inches per side. The largest appliqued leaves are 9 inches long with 2 1/2 inch wide appliqued hearts. Smaller leaves measure 5 1/2 inches long with 2 inch wide hearts.
The backing is a gorgeous brown, madder, blue and ecru paisley stripe - see detail image. A 3/8 inch applied solid cheddar binding provides a simple and perfect frame for this high energy quilt. Completely hand quilted in outline stitching for the diamonds and 1 1/8 inch diagonal crosshatching in the appliques and brown ground.
