This 19th century red, white and blue quilt in the beloved Feathered Star pattern is exceptionally clean, bright, and graphic. Gorgeous 12 inch feathered stars are offset by a lovely 2 inch wide blue with white polka dots garden maze on a solid white background. 'Feather' triangles measure a mere 7/8 inch per short side and are hand pieced as is each star block. The wide 8 inch white border and the maze are treadle sewing machine pieced.

Lovely hand quilting includes outline and echo outline in the star blocks and maze, with floral vines in the white areas within the garden maze. A six bar cable is beautifully hand quilted in the wide white border which may have been added later. The backing is the same white cotton used on the front which folds to the back forming the scant 1/4 inch hand stitched binding.

A patriotic beauty in excellent condition, this quilt was used and lovingly cared for. In a wonderful large size it would make a stunning visual graphic for your bed. It has been professionally hand washed by Betsey and can be sent to you on approval for private viewing.
