QT202 Lavender Calico Pineapple Applique Quilt Top

66 x 78 inches
New England

This c.1928 Pineapple Appliqué Quilt top is the only one I have ever seen. It is comprised of 30 10-1/2” blocks jointed with 2-1/4” sashing. The small lavender with splashes of dark yellow and green calico is a very typical 1920s print. Hand appliquéd with very tiny stitches, this quilt top would fit a twin or double bed. There’s a seam on the bottom that needs stitching ( don't ask me why I did not stitch it up before taking this picture ) This top was hard to photograph because of the light colored depression era calico. The foundation fabric used is feedsack fabric. Such a sweet quilt top with the welcoming pineapple symbol.
