CONGG7 Amish Center Square

c. 1935
67 x 82 inches
Holmes County, Ohio

This mint condition “plain quilt” in purple and blue was created in Holmes County, OH. It is pieced by machine, which is often observed as the piecing method on an Amish quilt. There is a 1/2 inch turned over binding that is also finished by machine.

The wreath design quilting is truly amazing. The stitching is minuscule and perfect. There is a center wreath 12 inches in diameter and a 7 inch circle in the center with 3/4 inch grid quilting. This design gives the quilt a bullseye effect drawing ones eye from the outside to the very center. This amazing piece of art appears to have never been used. My quilts are always sent on approval. Professionally hand washed by Betsey.
