A bold color palette of black, lemon yellow and red make this quilt equally perfect for modern as well as traditional homes. In unused condition, this quilt was hand pieced in a Double Irish Chain pattern and finished with an unusual double border comprised of large black and yellow triangles followed by a 3 ½ inch red border. The black binding was only applied to the back of the quilt, giving the front the appearance of pillowcase edging. The backing is a beautiful circa 1885 wholecloth taupe and brown pinstripe with a muted pinkish taupe polka dot overlay. All hand quilted with cables in the red outer border, a funky organic leaf/flower shape in inner border, crosshatching in the Irish chain, and daisy medallions in the joining blocks.
