Turquoise is one of today’s colors highlighted by designers. This little quilt is a simple and graphic piece of art with solid color fabrics that will easily compliment a like palate decor. Bright and happy, this color was popular in the 1920’s, 1950’s and now once again. This 4” 9 patch is comprised of 1-1/4” squares. Each turquoise and white block is joined by a solid white block of the same size. The outside border consists of an inner strip measuring 1-1/2” wide in turquoise and an outer border 2" wide in white. The outside edged of this border is finished with a 3/8 inch wide hand applied turquoise binding. The quilt design is comprised of only two solid colored fabrics. All hand pieced and hand quilted. There are 3 different designs of quilting executed on this piece. The outside border is cross-hatched, the 9 patch is quilted with a diagonal double line quilting and the white blocks are quilted with two crossing ellipses. In pristine unused condition, this is an exact replica of an adult's quilt. Created in New England and hand washed by Betsey, it is ready for it’s new home.
