Unusual configuration of floral applique and leaves. Hand pieced and hand appliqued on linen, front and back. Approx 12" blocks. Between each applique block of flower and leaves is a basket containing flowers and ferns. Completely trupuntoed and stippled. Border is 12", heavily embellished with trupunto ferns and flowers. 1-1/2" inner border comprised of 1-1/2" x 2 x 1-1/2" triangles in the colors of the flowers and leaves. This quilt was completed before sewing machines were around. Professionally hand washed by Betsey. This quilt has been lovingly used. Overdyed green calico and very muted chrome orange calico binding.
