This redwork piece was originally made as a summer coverlet. If desired, this incredible textile could be backed and quilted or simply used as is over a down comforter. The condition is very good, there are a few places along the block seams where the decorative herringbone stitching is missing, but the price reflects any imperfections. The Turkey red thread has faded over time as true Turkey red does with use. This is a fabulous piece for any redwork fan, with many skillfully embroidered designs and a wonderfully creative and unusual border. Professionally hand washed by Betsey.
